Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. Injections of hyaluronic acid are used to reduce pain and improve joint mobility in patients suffering from osteoarthritis or other joint disorders.
Steroid injections, or corticosteroids, are powerful anti-inflammatory medications that sports medicine doctors may use to reduce inflammation and pain in injured joints. Steroid injections can provide significant relief for conditions such as arthritis or acute joint injuries.

Dr. Alin Cristurean MD, CCFP (SEM) Dip Sport Med

Dr. Cristurean (MD, CCFP(SEM), Dip. Sport Med.) obtained his medical training at the University of Calgary and McGill University.

He has been practicing as a primary care Sports Medicine Physician in Calgary since 2014, helping thousands of patients return to a life of pain-free movement and enjoyment. He is also a team physician with the Mount Royal University varsity teams (hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball) since 2015. Additionally, he has also assisted with the Calgary Stampeders, Cavalry FC, Calgary Roughnecks, Calgary Hitmen, ISU Speed Skating World Cup, Cirque du Soleil, Montreal Alouettes, Montreal Impact, and Montreal Canadiens.

He enjoys working with patients of all ages, and has a special interest in the treatment of joint, tendon, ligament, and muscle pain, with a focus on long-term joint and soft tissue preservation and health.
